Mangelsen - Images of Nature Gallery

FALL in Love with a Whisper of Fall

The subtle beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is transformed into a place of myriad, jewel-like colors during autumn. Species of deciduous trees here are many: sugar maple, scarlet oak, sweetgum, and hickories are found in the lower elevations while those above 4,000 feet are mainly yellow birch, American beech, mountain maple, hobblebush, and pin cherry. Ensconced along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, this is America's most visited national park.
