Mangelsen - Images of Nature Gallery

Mangelsen's new book titled The Last Great Wild Places

Capturing the splendor of wild places and intimate moments with animals, The Last Great Wild Places chronicles legendary nature and wildlife photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen’s past 40 years of photographic adventures in the field. Driven by a passion for sharing and preserving the Earth’s last great wild places, Mangelsen is as much a conservation biologist as a natural history photographer and artist.

This book is a retrospective of Mangelsen’s career, from his formative years growing up along the banks of the Platte River in Nebraska to becoming one of the most prolific and award winning photographers of our time. Featuring more than 100 of Mangelsen’s most spectacular images, the book will take you on a visual journey into the natural world that has inspired artists, conservationists, and adventurers for centuries.

A quiet call to action, an inventory of our planet as it battles climate change, and a celebration of wildness and its intrinsic value, The Last Great Wild Places is a record of the Earth’s last great locales, one that will inspire present and future generations with the message that what we have can, and must, be saved.
